TRUE & LIVING WAY
My contemplation and reflections are the result of my concentration upon the word and will of God. Yes I have diversions and complications resolving some of those issues in my mind. But the truth still prevails because in the end the aim is honesty with myself. Yes we each face difficulties of different sorts at different times, but if our focus is to be in the center of God’s will, that mark will finds its way into our lives and we shall know in the center of our being we are heading on the right course. It is my desire to each of God’s called out ones enter into the place of God’s perfect will for their lives striving for that eternal rest.
(11) Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
(12) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
(13) Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
(14) Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God; let us hold fast our profession. Hebrews 4:11-14 KJV
Each day the opportunity to draw closer to God or fall away presents itself in the form of a choice. We draw close through our faith, or we fall away through unbelief.
“Apeitheia” is the Greek word used for unbelief, it is derived from the Greek word apeithes); disbelief (obstinate and rebellious) = disobedient, unbelief.
The above passage reminds us that God is omniscient (all knowing). The word of God is active and powerful and so precise that it is able to define what is soulish and what is spiritual, it also reveals its ability to know every thought, emotion, plan, and intention of one’s inner being. God’s reason for conveying the reality of our nakedness before his eyes is for the benefit of our not allowing ourselves to be self-deceived. So let me re-emphasize we cannot conceal anything from God.
Each day presents itself with new complications, with new adversities, and with new decisions. However, we should be focused upon the prize of the mark of the high calling of Christ Jesus. The word of God confirms to us that faith works through love; and our faith is the essence of those things we have hope for. Faith culminates (reaches its highest altitude) through our confidence in God; and the conviction of his reality and his promises to sustain us. In essence faith is true reliance upon the object of our faith. The passage now points us to our High Priest whom resides over a new priesthood of believers; namely the called out (ecclesia) = church and are told to hold fast to our profession because he resides in heaven making intercession for us.
This passage exhorts us to:
Labor
Examine Ourselves
Approach Our High Priest
Keep Our Confidence
Be Doers of the Word
(1) Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
(2) For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. Hebrews 4:1-2 KJV
There is a peace which passes all comprehension, it is a peace that resides within the confines of the word and will of God. Some fall short of it because they quit striving to enter in at the strait gate and walk the narrow path of righteousness. Unfortunately they tread the broad way of doublemindedness and diminishing faith is the result of traveling on the freeway of self-interest. When they do hear the gospel it does not build them up spiritually because it is not receive in the fullness of faith, and it profits them either for a short while or not at all. They are those whom look in the mirror and see themselves as Christ would reflect through them and straightway walk away forgetting the image of the man in the mirror.
There are two choices each day as we arise to meet life; God’s choice or our choice. One is the way to peace, the other way to unrest. One is the way of faith; the other is way of fault. The bible explicitly teaches us; “there is a way that seems right unto a man; but the end thereof is the way of destruction”.
The hope of the heart is found in the spirit of the word and will of God. Let us therefore seek the face of God in obedience so that we may find the resolutions to those things which deprive us of the blessings of living in his love.
(15) For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
(16) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16 KJV
In him is the fullness of joy, and at his right hand there are pleasures forevermore, in him is life more abundant, come to him and he will show you the way of life; for he is the light and life of man, for without him we can do nothing.
Brethren keep the faith today by going to throne room of mercy and grace when you want to praise the Lord, go when you’re in need, go when you have questions, go when you just want to enjoy peace, go into the throne room of grace in faith believing he loves you and hears you. Selah!
