Please pray
Eli’s Fight with AML Leukemia is feeling heartbroken.
We got some heartbreaking news today. It’s looking like his leukemia is getting worse and the targeted medication isn’t completely working to get rid of it. The slide scan is showing about 30% leukemia cells and very few healthy cells 💔.
This past month has been so hard with him being so sick with the bacterial infection and now, just when he started to feel a little better, we find out his cancer is getting worse and the targeted medication isn’t working to kill the leukemia on its own like we had hoped. While on the phone with his doctor, going over some of the options we have moving forward, although he didn’t recommend it at this time, he did want to let us know that one of the options is to take him home on “supportive care”. Those words were so hard to hear. I can’t even imagine giving up. We still have treatment options, but they’re limited with him being so weak. Tomorrow we are going to meet with his doctor and come up with a new plan.
Although he has been smiling again, he has still been throwing up and is especially fussy throughout the night. We’ve been giving him nausea medicine, but it doesn’t seem to help much. He has been getting pale and sleeps a lot.
I don’t even know what else to say, we are just absolutely heartbroken and devastated.
