QUIBBLE IN THE QUAGMIRE
Things we learn but do not discern as knowledge needed to activate a dynamic in our lives. The application of not only knowledge but obedience to our new nature are required to live the life of a new creation. One defining element of our new chemistry is the influx of agape. Our faith is incomplete without its active application in our lives.
(22) Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
(23) Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
(24) For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
(25) But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. 1st Peter 1:22-25 KJV
Purity or Sanctification comes through obedience to the truth, that’s application which yields a crop of un-pretended love thus enabling us to love with a pure heart intensely and zealously. We were not birthed through perishable seed that can dry up and blow away, but divine seed, a living word, the imperishable seed which lives and takes eternal root.
Brethren there are two diametrically opposed forces in life which can either enlighten us or perplex us. These are love and fear.
Fear as Force: we will always have the opposition of fear which intends to perplex and paralyze.
Love as a Fortress: which composes us and conditions us for greater enlightenment and conquest.
My brethren, consider this; if we are loveless, and faithless, we will never be fearless. It is God’s seed, his holy incorruptible word when planted in our hearts, yields to us a crop of pure and un-pretended love. Obedience or heartfelt application from a pure hearts multiplies the character of God in our content of character, as we put to practice this divine attributes and spiritual principles we become more Christ-like in our nature.
(3) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
(4) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
(5) And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
(6) And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
(7) And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
(8) For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:3-8 KJV
We can choose the figs of fears, or the fruits of faith. We can coward in fear or be anchored in love. Brethren, might I add that life is a quagmire of unknowns, unexpected, and sometimes uncertainties, but if we are safe within the fortress of God’s love, we will never need to be afraid of the adversities of life. Many today allow these elements of this temporary physical reality to determine their response. Many are consequently are overwhelmed by it and begin to quibble in the quagmire of life. They become bitter, resentful, hateful, despairing and despondent. Gloom is a fateful first step toward our doom, when we do not give all diligence, to faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, kindness, and charity in the fortress of God’s love we are setting ourselves up for our own demise.
(9) But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
(10) Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
(11) For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. 2nd Peter 1:9-11 KJV
Brethren, keep the faith today by giving all diligence to make your calling and election sure, so that an entrance into the everlasting Kingdom of God is the end result of your life, learn to love and to love with dissimulation. Selah!
