Wow. Levrae comes from a perspective that I had not considered and now I realize the error of my ways in this. I am ashamed over it too.
One of the many things that I struggle with in my personality is jumping to conclusions and assuming the motives of others.
Since we are in the midst of an agenda where right is wrong, and wrong is right, it is easy to assume that a motive of most anything that we see, is coming from an agenda to normalize wrong.
Sometimes it takes someone like this man to push back and say, "Wait a minute. How do you know that his person's motives are nefarious?" He made some very good points early on causing me to reevaluate my perspective on this "He gets us" situation. I truly did think that they were trying to normalize these things and say that Jesus condones these sins when that might not be the reason for the creation of the video at all.
I also need to remember also that yes some of the sins presented in the video are shameful and seemingly inexcusable, I have committed sins before that were just as shameful and inexcusable too. I still have a sinful nature and always will and if it weren't for the mercy from Jesus, I would be headed to Hell.
I don't feel that I am better than anyone or less than a sinner than anyone. I just see America and the world falling apart in rebellion against God and it's like watching a train wreck happening. Then I remember my life in the 70s with the motto "sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll!". I'm reminded that I was a part of the rebellion. I have been a part of today's morals being eroded. No matter how much I might repent. The damage has been done.
When dealing with people who are committing sins that need the light of Jesus, we must always remember what Jesus taught about sin.
The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector
Luke 18:9 Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’
13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
