This video is mainly about the sinner's prayer. I'm sure most of us (that are Protestant) have recited it at some point in our lives or at least heard of it.
This video makes some good points on why this prayer is NOT biblical. I'm sure this prayer has helped some people reach salvation, but for many it didn't.
God's grace is free. He doesn't require anything for it (except repentance). A saved person has to be born again. When you become Christian or decide to walk with Christ even though you were raised Christian but hadn't lived as you know God would want you to, you have to earnestly repent and give your life to Him, you become a changed person. A truly repentant person no longer lives the sinful life that they once did.
Do repentant sinners live perfect, lives void of any sin? No. That's why we need a Savior.
Every single day is a struggle for those living in Christ.
Living a life of partying with booze, "sex, drugs and Rock and roll", while professing to be a saved Christian is a dangerous place to be. The Sinner's Prayer will not help you if you cannot let go of your sinful lifestyle.
It is only when we repent, ask Jesus into our lives, to change us and clean us up that we can be truly saved.
Even John the Baptist warned, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15. NKJV
It's when we come before Jesus on bended knee with a humble heart, earnestly repenting, that God does miraculous things in our lives.
We become a changed person, a better person. We will always be an imperfect work in progress, but each day brings more possibilities for growth.
